The Bike Isn’t Starting

If you’re having trouble starting your Bimba bike or unlocking it, try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data if necessary.

2. Be Patient While Unlocking

After scanning the QR code, give the bike a few seconds to respond and unlock. Sometimes it takes a moment to activate.

3. Verify Manual Unlock Steps (if applicable)

If your bike has a manual wheel lock:

  • Pull the pin out of the side wheel lock.
  • Insert the pin into the designated slot on the bike fender.
(Note: Not all Bimba bikes have this feature.)

4. Confirm You’re Within the Riding Area

Check the map in the app to ensure you’re inside the designated riding area.

  • If you’re outside the area, the bike’s electric assistance may be deactivated.
  • Move the bike manually back into the riding area to reactivate assistance.

5. Check for Payment Issues

Look in the app for error messages related to payment.

  • Double-check your payment details.
  • If you’re using your Bimba Wallet, ensure there are sufficient funds for the ride.

6. Inspect the Bike for Damage

If the bike doesn’t respond after unlocking, it may be damaged. Report the issue in the app by selecting the bike on the map and tapping “Report Issue”.

Important Note

If the bike doesn’t start or unlock, don’t worry—you won’t be charged. Simply try another nearby bike and report the issue in the app.

By following these steps, you’ll be back on your ride in no time!
