Why Was I Charged a Parking Fine?

You may receive a parking fine of up to ₡180,000 ($300) if you park incorrectly or outside the designated areas. Below are the most common reasons for a fine and how to avoid them.

🚫 Reasons You May Have Been Fined

  1. Parking in a No-Park Zone, No-Go Zone, or Outside the Riding Area
    • These areas are marked on the map, so always check before parking.
    • If you enter one of these zones, you’ll receive a push notification to move your bike before a fine is applied.
  2. Ride Ended Due to Inactivity in a Restricted Area
    • If your ride is paused or inactive for 10-30 minutes, it will be auto-ended.
    • If this happens in a no-park or no-go zone, a fine will apply.
    • You’ll receive a notification before auto-ending to give you time to move the bike.
  3. Incorrect Parking
    • Always park at a Bimba station:
      • Benz Station – Near La Carmen Beach
      • La Glida Station – Near Banana Beach
      • Somos Station – Near La Lora Beach
    • If a station is full, park next to it without blocking walkways or entrances.
    • The app may prompt you to take a parking photo—make sure it is clear and shows proper parking.

📄 How to Check Your Fine

You can see any parking fines on your ride receipt or invoice in the app under the “History” section.

💬 Think You Were Fined by Mistake?

If you believe a fine was applied in error, check your ride details and refer to the Parking Guidelines in the app. If needed, you can reach out to our support team through the “Help & Legal” section.

By parking responsibly at Benz, La Glida, or Somos stations, you can avoid fines and help keep Bimba available for all riders.
