Was I Charged Incorrectly for My Bimba Ride?
At Bimba, we strive to provide simple and affordable pricing. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, here are some common scenarios to review:
Payment Pre-Authorization Hold
When you start a ride, you may notice a pre-authorization hold on your payment method. This appears as a pending charge on your bank statement and ensures there are sufficient funds to cover your ride.
- Hold Release: The temporary hold is released immediately after your ride ends, with refunds processed within 10 days.
- Bank Processing Times: Your bank may take additional time to reflect this change. We recommend checking with your bank for their specific policies on pre-authorization holds.
Price Higher Than Expected
Bimba charges a fixed rate to unlock the bike (₡1,000) and a per-minute rate (₡250). Ensure you review the following:
- Check Rates in the App: Tap on a bike in the app to view local costs before starting your ride.
- Minimum Charges: Some rides may be subject to a minimum charge, even if they are very short.
- Receipts: A receipt is emailed to you after your ride. You can also access it in the Bimba app:
- Open the app and tap the menu icon in the top-left corner.
- Select “History” to view your past rides and receipts.
Parking Penalties
If you parked incorrectly and received a penalty, this may be reflected in your total charge. Always ensure you park at a designated Bimba station or within an approved area.
