To ensure compliance with local rules and regulations, Bimba uses riding and parking zones to manage where you can ride, park, and the speed of your bike. These zones are clearly displayed in the Bimba app map using various colors and symbols. Here’s what they mean and how to navigate them:
Zone Types and Their Meanings
No-Go Zones
- What It Means: Bimba bikes are not allowed to operate in these areas, indicated by red shading with a restricted symbol.
- What Happens: If you enter a No-Go Zone, your bike will gradually come to a stop.
- What to Do: Walk your bike out of the No-Go Zone to resume your ride.
Low-Speed Zones
- What It Means: In yellow-shaded areas, bike speed is automatically reduced to ensure safety.
- How to Check Speed: Tap on the yellow zone in the app map to see the top speed allowed.
- What to Do: Ride cautiously and plan ahead if you’re entering a Low-Speed Zone.
No-Parking Zones
- What It Means: Parking is prohibited in red-shaded areas marked with a no-parking symbol.
- What Happens: If you attempt to park here, the app will notify you and guide you to the nearest approved parking location.
- What to Do: Park only in approved areas to avoid penalties.
Mandatory Parking Zones
- What It Means: Blue parking pins indicate areas where parking is required to end your ride.
- What Happens: If you’re outside a Mandatory Parking Zone, the app will alert you and help locate the nearest designated spot.
- What to Do: Always end your ride in these designated zones to avoid warnings or penalties.
Service Zones
- What It Means: The Service Zone is the permitted rideable area, indicated by a green line with gray shading beyond it.
- What Happens: If you exit the Service Zone, your bike will gradually come to a stop.
- What to Do: Walk your bike back into the Service Zone to continue your ride.
